The problem with most supplement stores

Supplement buyers are sceptical, and they are right to be. The category is full of proprietary blends that hide their doses, and of claims that would not survive a regulator reading them. A storefront that leads with lifestyle photography and adjectives gets treated with exactly the suspicion it has earned.

So the Apex storefront leads with the specifics instead: what is in the capsule, how much of it, and why those three molecules were chosen together. The doses sit on the product page in the buyer's eyeline rather than in a supplement facts panel they have to hunt for.

What we built

The product page is the whole store. Everything else exists to get someone to it and to answer whatever stopped them buying.

  • A supply selector — one, two or three months — so the quantity decision happens before the checkout rather than in it
  • Subscribe-and-save at 15%, presented so the recurring option is visibly the better-value one, with cancel-anytime terms stated on the same screen
  • A dedicated science section that carries the persuasion, which lets the buy box stay short
  • An FAQ answering the six objections that actually come up, including 'is it third-party tested' and 'how long until I notice results'
  • Editorial product photography treatment across a bottle, a lifestyle and a macro detail shot

Claim language

Supplement copy in the US sits under rules about what may and may not be said. Structure-function claims are permitted, disease claims are not, and the difference is not a matter of tone.

Every line of copy on the store was written to stay on the right side of that line, and the required disclaimer appears where it has to. This is not a design detail — it is the part that determines whether a store can advertise at all.
