Service

Websites for local businesses

For the business whose next customer is three miles away and searching on a phone right now.

From £499

The problem

A local business does not lose work because its website is unfashionable. It loses work because someone searched, found a competitor first, and never knew it existed — or landed on the site, could not tell whether it covered their postcode, and left.

The two failures compound. Being invisible in local search costs you the enquiry before it starts; being unclear about coverage and price costs you the enquiry you already paid to attract.

How we approach it

Coverage and contact come first. Within a few seconds a visitor should know what you do, which areas you cover, that other people have used you, and exactly how to get in touch — with a phone number that is tappable rather than typed out as text.

Then the Google Business Profile, because for local searches it frequently does more work than the website. Correct categories, services listed individually, service areas set properly, real photographs of real jobs. It is included on every package for that reason, not as an upsell.

Deliverables

What we deliver

  • A site built at phone width first, where nearly all local searches happen
  • Coverage stated plainly, so nobody has to guess whether you come to them
  • Tappable phone number, enquiry form, and WhatsApp where the audience prefers it
  • Google Business Profile set up or cleaned up, with the right categories and services
  • Pages named after what customers search for, not internal service categories
  • Trust signals — insurance, accreditations, real reviews — placed where hesitation happens
  • A care plan so prices, hours and photographs stay current rather than going stale

Questions

Local business websites — the common questions

I only cover a few towns. Do I need a page for each one?

Only where there is something genuinely local to say — work you have done there, how quickly you can reach it, what is specific about the properties. Pages mass-produced by swapping the town name are a well-known way to have a site treated as spam, and they do not convert either.

Do I need a website if I already have a Google Business Profile?

The profile often gets you found; the website is what convinces someone to call rather than tapping back to the next result. They work together — and a profile linking to nothing looks less established than one linking to a proper site.

What if most of my work comes from word of mouth?

Then the site is doing a different job: the person you were recommended to still looks you up before they ring. What they find either confirms the recommendation or quietly undermines it.
